New Delhi, November 21: Congress took a dig at BJP, following Pragya Singh Thakur being nominated to the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Defence earlier in the day. In a tweet, the party has slammed the decision saying that this move is an insult to our nation's defence forces and also to every Indian.

The tweet reads, "Pragya Thakur, a terror accused and Godse fanatic has been nominated by the BJP govt. to be a member of the Parliamentary Panel on Defence. This move is an insult to our nation's defence forces, to our nation's esteemed parliamentarians and to every Indian." Pragya Singh Thakur Nominated to Parliamentary Panel of Defence; Here's Why Appointment of Controversial BJP MP Raises Eyebrows.

Thakur is known for her controversial comments, and when she had referred Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as a patriot, it stirred a lot of outrage. PM Narendra Modi had to intervene and said that he would never be able to forgive Thakur for what she said. Taking a jibe at Modi's comment, Congress today in their tweet stated that finally, PM has forgiven Pragya.

Thakur is currently under trial for multiple charges under the Unlawful Activities.
