New Delhi, January 21: Suspended Jammu and Kashmir Police Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Davinder Singh has been stripped of commendation medal and certificate that he recieved from the Director General of Police. DSP Davinder Singh was arrested on January 11 with three Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists including top commander Naveed Babu, along with arms and ammunition, while they were travelling in a car in Kazipur on the National Highway. 'Davinder Singh's Alleged Connection With Afzal Guru'.

There had been reports that Singh was awarded the prestigious President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service on Independence Day 2019. However, the Jammu and Kashmir police denied it. "It is to clarify that Dysp Davinder Singh is not awarded any Gallantry or Meritorious Medal by MHA as has been reported by some media outlets/persons Only gallantry medal awarded to him during his service is by the erstwhile J&K State on Independence Day 2018," police had tweeted. 'Davinder Singh Was Working Under Whose Orders?' Earlier, the state administration stripped Singh of the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Medal that was awarded to him on August 14, 2018. Singh was allegedly taking Naveed Babu to Jammu and was facilitating him to travel to Pakistan. A lawyer Irfan Ahmed was also arrested. Multiple investigating agencies have been questioning Singh ever since. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will investigate his links with terror outfits.

On the order from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the NIA has registered a case against Singh who allegedly gave shelter to three terrorists at his residence in Srinagar.
