New Delhi, April 6: In another shocking incident of sexual assault reported from Delhi, a 20-year-old Haryana-based dancer was allegedly raped by three men in Khajuri Khas area. Based on a complaint by the victim, police have arrested all three accused on Friday. According to reports, the incident took place five days ago when the woman had come to north-east Delhi's Khajuri Khas area for a show, who turned out to be a trap by the accused. The woman, a resident of Haryana, arrived at Kashmere Gast ISBT from where the trio picked her on a pretext of taking her to the venue. Delhi Shamed Again! 24-Year-Old Man Rapes Minor After Kidnapping Her from Footpath; Police Arrest Accused.

"They instead took the woman to a house near an isolated field in Bawana where the incident took place," a senior police officer said. The accused dumped her in Khajuri Chowk and fled away with her cellphone. Based on the woman's complaint, the accused, identified as Om (25), Lokesh (21) and Hrishikesh (25), were arrested.

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2013 annual report, rape is the fourth most common crime against women in the country. In the year 2012, 24,923 rape cases were reported in India. Out of these, around 24,470, about 98 per cent, were committed by someone known to the victim.
