Delhi Students Protest: JP Nadda Invites CJP for Fresh Talks, Says Govt Open to Meeting at Office or Residence
The Union government has extended a fresh invitation for talks to the leadership of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), offering to host discussions at the residence or office of Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda.
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda has renewed the Centre's offer of dialogue with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), saying he is prepared to hold further discussions either at his office or residence in an effort to resolve the ongoing student-led agitation over the alleged NEET paper leak. Government Extends Fresh Invitation
Speaking on Thursday, Nadda said the government remains willing to continue discussions with CJP representatives and is open to holding the meeting at either his office or his official residence. He reiterated that the Centre is prepared to engage with the protesters' concerns and emphasized that dialogue remains the preferred way to resolve the ongoing dispute. Four Proposals Sent for Dialogue
Minister of State Jitendra Singh said the government had sent four formal proposals to student representatives over the past 24 hours, inviting them for talks. According to Singh, the government is ready to meet "whenever" the protesters choose, at any time and for as long as necessary. He added that discussions could cover not only the issue that triggered the protests but also related concerns raised by students.
Centre Stresses Peaceful Resolution
The government has maintained that it is committed to resolving the issue through dialogue rather than confrontation. Officials have urged protesters to accept the invitation and engage in discussions without preconditions. The renewed outreach follows an earlier meeting between government representatives and CJP leaders, which did not result in a consensus on the protesters' demands. CJP Insists on Neutral Venue
Despite the fresh invitation, CJP has so far declined to hold another meeting at Nadda's residence. Party representatives have argued that future discussions should take place at Jantar Mantar, where the protest is ongoing, or at another mutually agreed neutral venue. The organisation has maintained that meaningful negotiations should occur in a setting acceptable to both sides while the protest continues.
The CJP-led protests began over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and have since grown into a nationwide movement demanding greater transparency and accountability in the examination system. The demonstrations have also led to political exchanges, disruptions in Parliament and clashes between protesters and police in New Delhi.
With both sides expressing willingness to continue discussions, the government's latest invitation represents another attempt to find a negotiated solution to the ongoing standoff.
