Delhi: Woman Stabbed to Death by Husband, Man Attempts Suicide
A 28-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband inside a hotel in Delhi’s Lahori Gate area, following what police suspect was a family dispute. The man later allegedly consumed poison in an apparent suicide attempt and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The couple, who had been married for around six months, had checked into the hotel on Wednesday afternoon, according to a report.
Couple Checked Into Hotel on Wednesday

The woman, originally from Bihar, worked at a beauty parlour in Delhi, while her husband ran a tea stall in Rajasthan, police said. Investigators suspect that a family dispute preceded the attack. During the night, the man allegedly stabbed his wife three times before consuming a poisonous substance in an apparent suicide attempt.
Hotel Staff Alerted Police
The incident came to light on Thursday morning when hotel staff found the woman lying unconscious inside the room in a pool of blood. Police said the Lahori Gate police station received information about a man and a woman found unconscious at the hotel. A police team immediately reached the spot and found the woman with multiple stab injuries. The man was also found unconscious. Both were taken to a nearby hospital. The woman was declared brought dead, while the man remained under treatment, police said.
Probe Underway
The woman's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the investigation. Police are examining the circumstances leading to the alleged killing and the subsequent suicide attempt.
The case comes amid continuing scrutiny of violent incidents involving couples in Delhi. In another Lahori Gate hotel murder earlier this year, police had arrested a man accused of killing a woman inside a hotel room.
Police are expected to question the accused once his medical condition permits and establish the sequence of events inside the hotel room. The investigation is ongoing.
