The deceased has been identified as Ram Kumar, a resident of Kalandar Colony in Bhalswa Dairy. Kumar was taken to Burari Hospital on August 30 for a medical evaluation. Examining doctors noted visible injuries, including bruises and lacerations on his hands, a black eye, and leg bruising. However, as medical staff found no acute internal injuries, active bleeding, or loss of consciousness, he was treated as an outpatient and discharged.

Days later, on September 9, Kumar's condition deteriorated, and he returned to Burari Hospital complaining of severe breathlessness.
