Trichy, June 1: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader and Rajya Sabha member T Siva has warned of protests against the Centre's three-language system under the draft NEP (New Education Policy). The draft states that the non-Hindi speaking states would include regional language, Hindi and English. Expressing his discontent, Siva said, "The attempt to force Hindi language on people of Tamil Nadu will not be tolerated by its people. “Imposing Hindi in Tamil Nadu is like throwing fire in a sulphur godown. If they insist on learning Hindi again, the students and youths will stop it at any cost. The anti-Hindi agitation from 1965 is a clear example,” he was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

Similarly, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder and Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan also said that the Hindi language should not be imposed on anyone. I have acted in many Hindi films, in my opinion, Hindi language should not be imposed on anyone, " he said while speaking to news agency ANI.
