Investigation into the death of 26-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal has revealed that the conspiracy was centred in Pune’s Lullanagar (Lulla Nagar) neighbourhood. According to the Pune Rural Police, the two primary accused - Agarwal’s fiancée, Siya Goyal (20), and her associate, Chetan Chaudhary (22) - not only finalised their murder plot in the locality but also utilised a nearby hillock to physically rehearse pushing a person off a cliff before executing the crime at Lohagad Fort on June 18.

According to investigators, the logistical planning behind the murder was mapped out entirely within Sector-37 of Lulla Nagar. The location served as a frequent meeting point for Goyal and Chaudhary before the incident. During a recent investigative walkthrough, police escorted Goyal back to the specific neighbourhood site to formally map out the timeline of the conspiracy. "The investigation has revealed that Siya and Chetan had rehearsed at an open space near a club in Lulla Nagar how to push Ketan off the cliff at Lohagad Fort. Today, Siya was taken to the spot, where she identified the place where they had allegedly carried out the rehearsal," a Pune Rural police official told the news agency PTI.

The rehearsal site sits a short distance away from Goyal’s family residence, "Leela Kunj", located in the adjacent Market Yard area. Investigators previously searched the residence to recover the specific clothing worn by Goyal on the day of the incident, which has since been forwarded for forensic examination. To corroborate physical findings with the suspects' accounts, the police executed independent crime scene reconstructions at Lohagad Fort. A dummy simulation was conducted at the cliff edge in Goyal's presence, followed three days later by a step-by-step procedural reconstruction involving Chaudhary at the fort site.

To resolve conflicting claims between the two suspects, the Pune Rural Police have approached the Vadgaon Maval court to secure legal authorisation for polygraph (lie detector) tests. Digital Forensics and Evasion Tactics

Technical data extracted from personal devices indicates that the suspects began searching for methodologies to execute the crime as early as late May. Investigators found that the duo used Google search fields to research lethal methods and spent time pre-formulating alibis to present during subsequent police interrogations. The tracking also exposed deliberate efforts to avoid digital checkpoints. While attempting to blend in with weekend trekkers at the fort, Chaudhary wore a heavy hoodie to obscure his face from localised cameras. However, the decision to wear a heavy winter hoodie in 33-degree Celsius summer weather ultimately drew the attention of local witnesses and investigators, accelerating his identification during the initial probe.
