New Delhi, June 1: Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection touched Rs one lakh crore in May 2019 as compared to Rs 94,016 crore in a year-ago period, the government said on Saturday. The total gross collections of GST in May stood at Rs 1,00,289 crore, however, it is lower than Rs 1,13,865 crore, which was collected in April. The gross GST included CGST (Central GST) which is Rs 17,811 crore, SGST (State GST) is Rs 24,462 crore, IGST is Rs 49,891 crore (including Rs 24,875 crore collected on imports) and Cess is Rs 8,125 crore (including Rs 953 crore collected on imports). An amount of Rs 18, 934 crores has also been released to the states as a GST compensation for February-March 2019. Infra Sector Growth Improves to 4.7 per Cent in March 2019 Against 4.5 per Cent Last Year.

Last month, the GST collections were Rs 1,13,865 crore, which was 10.05 per cent higher than the same period the previous year. The CGST and SGST collections were Rs 21,163 crore, and Rs 28,801 crore respectively.
