Gujarat Police Crack Down on Prostitution Racket at 4 Ahmedabad Spas; 9 Arrested

In a major enforcement operation, the State Monitoring Cell (SMC) of the Gujarat Police has dismantled an illegal prostitution ring operating under the guise of wellness spa centers across Ahmedabad. Coordinated raids carried out across key commercial nodes-including Bodakdev, Vastrapur, and Satellite-led to the arrest of nine individuals. Police also seized illicit proceeds, cash, card swipe machines, DVR units, and communication devices worth over ₹5.29 lakh (approx. $6,300 USD) during the operation.

According to officials, law enforcement agencies targeted four commercial facilities: The Galaxy Spa in Bodakdev, A9 Spa in Satellite, and two other spa centers situated along the prominent SG Highway corridor. The premises were allegedly being used as fronts to solicit clients and run illegal commercial s*x operations. The operation led to the arrest of multiple spa managers, reception staff, and facilitators, while law enforcement authorities declared 10 key organizers and facility owners as wanted suspects. Those named in the investigation face charges under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) alongside the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
