The Gurugram Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Monday after a viral video surfaced showing a woman motorcyclist being chased and hit by a car along Golf Course Road. The impact threw the rider off her motorcycle, while the vehicle dragged her sports bike several meters down the road before fleeing the scene.
Gurugram Police have registered an FIR after taking suo motu cognisance of a viral video that allegedly shows a car chasing and hitting a woman biker on Golf Course Road. Police said the case was registered at Sector 56 police station after their Social Media Monitoring Cell came across the video on September 14, and efforts are underway to identify the accused driver.
Viral Video Prompts Police Action
The incident came to light after the woman biker, identified in reports as Sia, shared footage recorded on a camera mounted on her motorcycle. No written complaint has been received from the victim till now. However, Gurugram Police has taken suo motu cognizance of the viral video and registered FIR in the matter. The accused will be identified and apprehended at the earliest, and strictest legal action will be taken .

According to the rider's account, she was travelling with friends when the occupants of the car allegedly began following them closely. She said she asked the driver to maintain a safe distance, but the vehicle continued to follow her.
Woman Alleges Car Chased and Rammed Her Bike
The collision occurred on Golf Course Road, causing the woman to fall from her motorcycle, reports said. The car allegedly left the spot after the incident. The woman was riding an Aprilia RS 457 sports bike at the time. FIR Registered at Sector 56 Police Station
Gurugram Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhilaksh Joshi said the police had contacted the woman involved after the video was intercepted by the Social Media Monitoring Cell.
"Taking suo motu cognisance, we have registered an FIR at Sector 56 Police Station," Joshi said, adding that the incident occurred on Golf Course Road. Police have not yet publicly disclosed further details about the sections invoked in the FIR.
Police Working to Identify Accused
Investigators are examining the viral footage and other available evidence to identify the driver and trace the vehicle involved in the incident. Police officials have said the accused will be identified and action will be taken in accordance with the law. The investigation is continuing, and no official information on an arrest was available at the time of the latest reports.
