Gurugram, February 20: A chilling case of child s*xual assault and murder has emerged from Gurugram, where a 24-year-old manufacturing firm worker allegedly raped and killed a three-year-old girl who lived in his own building. The accused, originally hailing from the Supaul district of Bihar, was reportedly a familiar figure to the victim’s family and often played with the toddler before committing the heinous crime on Thursday evening.
The tragedy began around 7:00 PM when the suspect lured the playing child away from her home, taking her at least four kilometers to a secluded spot near the industrial area of Sector 37. According to Gurugram Police Public Relations Officer Sandeep Turan, the suspect raped the toddler before throttling her to death. In a desperate attempt to conceal the crime, he dug a shallow pit in an empty plot and buried the body before fleeing the scene. The victim’s parents filed a missing person report at approximately 12:15 AM after they were unable to locate their daughter. Investigators quickly pivoted to local surveillance footage, which captured the accused taking the girl away from the neighbourhood. This critical evidence led to his swift arrest, during which he confessed to the murder and s*xual assault. Under the guidance of the suspect, a police team recovered the girl's body from the pit around 2:00 AM on Friday. Forensic experts were immediately called to the site to collect evidence and process the scene.
