Hisar, August 2: A conflict among the two rival groups after a heated argument led to the death of one inmate and injured two others in Hisar Central Jail. The crash occurred when 20 inmates of a rival gang attacked the trio on Thursday morning. The deceased, identified as Ravinder Singh (33), was convicted for drug peddling. According to reports, the rival gang was led by Jagdish who attacked Ravinder with an ice pick. He attacked him multiple times on his chest and other body parts. While Ravinder's aides Harjeet and Tajiner were attacked by other assailants. The trio were rushed to a hospital, where Ravinder succumbed to his injuries while the other two are still critical. Police said that Ravinder's gang had an old rivalry with Bacchi gang to which the accused belong. According to police, a few weeks earlier, Ravinder, Tajinder and Harjeet attacked Jagdish over some issue. So to take revenge, Jagdish attacked them. An FIR has been registered.
Questions are being raised on the jail authorities for being lax as two groups were formed and operating within the premises. Meanwhile, Hisar Central Jail houses high profile prisoners like Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and Rampal.
