Hyderabad: Medical Student Found Dead in Hotel Room, Male Friend Missing
A 27-year-old postgraduate medical student was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside a hotel room in Miyapur, Hyderabad. Authorities have registered a murder case following a complaint from the victim's family, while her boyfriend, who had checked into the hotel with her, remains untraceable.

The deceased has been identified as K Srijana, a native of Sangareddy district who was pursuing postgraduate studies in paediatrics at a medical college in Hanamkonda, TOI reported.
Family Raised Alarm After Losing Contact
According to police, Srijana travelled to Hyderabad on September 30 after her male friend, identified as Ravi, reportedly called her to discuss the return of a gold chain. The two subsequently checked into a hotel in Miyapur, police said. Ravi reportedly checked out on October 1 and has remained untraceable since then. Srijana's family became concerned after they were unable to contact her. They first approached police in Hanamkonda and, after learning that she had travelled to Hyderabad, a missing-person complaint was lodged.
Mobile Location Led Police to Hotel
Investigators used mobile phone location data to trace Srijana's movements to the Miyapur hotel. Police then reached the premises and found her body on the bed inside the room. Her body was reportedly in a decomposed condition. Police said there were no obvious external injury marks during the preliminary examination, making it difficult to determine the cause of death immediately. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Officials said the autopsy report will help establish the exact cause of death. Murder Case Registered
Srijana's father, K Bhumayya, alleged in his complaint that his daughter had been murdered. Based on the complaint, Miyapur police registered a murder case and began investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. Police are also searching for Ravi and examining CCTV footage and other evidence to reconstruct the events inside and around the hotel.
Miyapur Inspector N Jayaram said investigators were yet to establish what happened after the two checked into the hotel. The missing man's role, if any, remains under investigation.
Couple Had Known Each Other for Years
Police said Srijana and Ravi had known each other since their MBBS days in Mahbubnagar and were reportedly in a relationship. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the gold-chain dispute that reportedly brought the two to Hyderabad and led them to take the hotel room.
At this stage, police have not established the cause of Srijana's death or publicly concluded that Ravi was responsible. The post-mortem findings and further investigation are expected to provide more clarity on the case.
