‘Hyderabad Vet Rape-Murder Case to Be Heard in Fast-Track Court,’ Says Telangana Chief Minister KCR

Hyderabad, December 1: Three days after the rape and murder of a veterinary doctor in Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that a fast track court will be set up to "deal with the horrific case" and culprits would be given stringent punishment. He also assured that all the necessary help would be given to the victim's family. "The chief minister has instructed officials that the accused of the woman veterinary doctor's ghastly murder should be inquired on a fast track, and culprits should be given stringent punishment. Till now, the police have arrested four suspects in the rape and murder of 27-year-old veterinarian. The victim's charred body was found near Shadnagar town on Friday. "This gruesome case should be investigated soon and stringent action should be taken. The accused should get the maximum punishment," KCR said in his first response.

State's Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao urged to the centre to amend IPC and CrPC to make it more powerful in the rape cases. "Justice delayed is justice denied, sir...Amend the Indian Penal Code (IPC) & Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC) so anyone who commits such a heinous act of violence on our women & children are given capital punishment without delay & NO option for review," he said.

The rape and murder case has led to massive outrage across the country as cops later revealed that the crime was pre-planned. According to police, the tyre of victim's scooty was deliberately punctured and she was trapped by the accused.
