Amritsar, December 26: Pakistani national Imran Qureshi Warsi who was lodged in Bhopal jail for 10 years for forging documents and spying returns to Pakistan from Attari-Wagah border. Warsi had come to India to meet his Kolkata-based relatives. He stayed on in India for four years despite the expiry of his visa. Furthermore, he also got a ration card and a PAN card made during his stay. He was on his way to Bhopal to get a passport made when the police arrested him. After Hamid Ansari's Return, India Releases Pakistan National Imran Warsi, Lodged in Bhopal Jail Since 10 Years.

Speaking to news agency ANI on December 22, “My term expired in January this year, following which the police took care of me until now because I had no money of my own. I now get to go home after 14 years, and I couldn't be happier to see my mother, father and siblings who all reside in Karachi.” The Pakistan national also praised Bhopal police for treating him well. Pakistan to Release Indian National Hamid Ansari Today; ‘My Son Went With Noble Intentions’, Says Mother.

He has an Indian wife and two children from the marriage, whom he plans on taking to Pakistan through proper legal recourse. India also released another Pakistan national Abdullah along with Warsi. He was detained from Attari in 2017. Abdullah had crossed the Indian border to meet Shah Rukh Khan.
