The IT firm was also paying regular premiums for several months. Cops said that the IT firm had faith in Shot Format as the two had done business before. However, Sengupta's company failed to provide the services and did not return the money, the FIR claims. Prashant Shinde, CEO of Proservz Digitech, also said there was a massive delay on the claims even after they paid the premiums to Shot Format for 3-4 years. Yadav realised his company was duped when he did not receive any response despite sending several reminders via email.

Following this, he approached cops and lodged a complaint against Shotformats Digital Production’s Director, Samrat Sengupta, and Managing Director, Niyateey Shah. Acting on Yadav's complaint, the police arrested Sengupta.
