A fire broke out at a Mercedes workshop in Jaipur's Balaji Market late Tuesday night, destroying around eight luxury cars along with expensive spare parts and accessories. More than 50 new and old vehicles were parked inside the workshop when the blaze erupted.

The workshop is located in the Sitapura area and falls under the jurisdiction of the Sanganer Sadar police station. Thick smoke from the fire was visible from nearly five kilometres away, according to reports.
The intense flames quickly spread through the workshop, engulfing around eight vehicles. Several other cars were moved out of the premises by firefighters and police personnel before the blaze could reach them. Expensive vehicle parts, accessories and other material stored inside the workshop were also damaged in the fire. No casualties or loss of life have been reported. After receiving information about the fire, police and fire brigade teams rushed to the workshop. Around 10 fire tenders were deployed to bring the blaze under control. The firefighting operation continued for nearly two hours, with the fire tenders making more than two dozen trips while battling the flames. Electricity supply to the surrounding area was also cut as a precautionary measure to reduce the risk of the fire spreading.
Sanganer Sadar SHO Kamlesh Sharma said several vehicles were safely removed from the workshop during the operation. A preliminary investigation has suggested that a short circuit may have triggered the fire. However, authorities have not yet formally established the exact cause. Police and fire officials are assessing the extent of damage to the vehicles, spare parts and other material inside the workshop. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses. The incident comes amid another fire reported in Jaipur earlier on Tuesday, when a blaze broke out at a mall near Narayan Singh Circle. That fire was brought under control by two fire tenders, with no casualties reported.
