Shopian, August 3: In another incident of bank loot in the Kashmir Valley, terrorists barged into a branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Karpan area of Shopian district. According to reports, the terrorists looted cash and also snatched a 12 bore rifle from the private security guard deputed at the branch. The gunmen looted around Rs 75,000 from the bank. Police have started investigation into the case. The entire incident is recorded on a CCTV installed in the bank.

In a similar incident yesterday, terrorists looted a 12 bore rifle from the security guard at a Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch in Anantnag's Brakpora. On August 1, a group of unidentified terrorists robbed Rs 5.78 lakh from a bank in Kulgam district. And on July 27, terrorists snatched 12 bore rifle from the security guard of Jammu and Kashmir bank in Shopian. On the same day, in a separate incident, terrorists opened fire in J&K bank in Kulgam district in which one civilian and a security guard were injured.

After demonitosation, there has been an increase in bank loot incidents in the valley where terrorists are particularly targeting J&K bank branches across the state. Weapon snatching incident have also been on rise in the past one year.
