Yadgiri: August 21: A 19-year-old boy was thrashed by his girlfriend and her family on Wednesday for allegedly recording TikTok videos with her. The incident took place in Karnataka’s Yadgiri district. The girl’s family tied the boy to a tree and roughed him up. The villagers also recorded the entire incident on camera. The girl also thrashed Buggappa with her sandals. According to a report published in the CNN News18, the boy had recorded many TikTok videos and uploaded them on his social media accounts. The girl’s family, unaware of their relationship, saw one of the videos.

They then confronted the boy and thrashed him. The girl also claimed that she was unaware that Buggappa had uploaded her videos. The boy was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Earlier this year a nationwide ban was laid on TikTok after Madras High Court advised the Central government to ban the app claiming it was encouraging pornography among youngsters. The app is owned by Chinese tech company ByteDance. The court had said that inappropriate content was being provided by the TikTok app, and the government should stop this.
