Mumbai, January 11: Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday is organising a two-day national convention in Ramlila Maidan in the national capital to discuss how to bring back the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. Around 12,000 BJP leaders from across the state are expected to attend the convention. Among the prime leaders include – party president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In another news, the Delhi High Court on Friday will pronounce its verdict on a petition filed by CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana’s plea in which he had challenged the FIR registered against him on October 15, last year. A couple of days ago, the Supreme Court had reinstated CBI Director Alok Verma. Both the two senior officers were sent to leave by the Union government, based on the Central Vigilance Commission’s recommendations.

Congress-led Bhupesh Baghel government withdrew the general consent granted to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe cases in the state on Thursday. With this, Chhattisgarh has become the third state to revoke permission to the country's premier investigating agency. Earlier, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal are the other two states to have done this.
