Lucknow, October 4: Two brothers were beaten up with cane and rods and later killed by bike-borne assailants in Lucknow's Thakurganj. The incident took place on Wednesday after which four people were detained for questioning by the Uttar Pradesh police in connection with the twin murder. The victims were travelling in a car when they were attacked.

Two bike-borne assailants pulled Imran Ghazi and Armaan Ghazi from their car and killed them. Family members of the deceased said they were beaten up with cane and rods for more than 30 minutes before being shot dead. Superintendent of Police (SP), Lucknow, Kalanidhi Naithani said an old rivalry between two groups led to the double murder. Four people have been detained by the police, and were being interrogated. A case was registered. "We are investigating the matter and will soon trace the murderers," the top cop told India Today.

Also on Wednesday, a man named Deepu was abducted by some unknown men. He was travelling with his wife Neelam on his bike when criminals stopped them. They reportedly thrashed Deepu later took him with them. Neelam has filed a case in Gomatinagar police station. However, the police are yet to trace Deepu.
