Mumbai, March 24: At least six people were killed and 45 others injured after a bus fall into a forge near Trimbakeshwar in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The road accident was reported on Sunday afternoon. Emergency workers were immediately rushed to the spot to expedite the rescue operations.

The fatal incident comes nearly two months after four people, including school students, were killed a in a truck-bus collision in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli. The accident was reported on January 16 this year.

Earlier, on December 9, 2018, a total of 11 people were killed and 4 others critically injured after a truck rammed into a tempo in eastern Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district.

According to the data released by the State Transport Ministry, a total of 13,059 persons died in road accidents in Maharashtra in 2018. The numbers were 12,935 and 12,511 in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
