Manorama Khedkar, Mother of Traine IAS Officer Puja Khedkar, Sent to Police Custody Till July 20 in Attempt to Murder Case Over Viral Gun Video

A Maharashtra court has remanded Manorama Khedkar, mother of trainee IAS Puja Khedkar, to police custody until July 20 in connection with an attempt to murder case. She was arrested earlier in the day following the viral circulation of an old video showing her brandishing a gun and threatening a farmer in Pune's Mulshi area on social media. The Khedkar family, recent purchasers of 25 acres of land in Mulshi taluka of Pune district, stands accused of trying to encroach upon a neighboring farmer’s land. Manorama Khedkar's daughter, Puja Kedkar faces allegations of submitting counterfeit disability and Other Backward Class (OBC) certificates to qualify for the civil services exam.
