New Delhi, November 15: In the latest development in Delhi-based Fashion designer Mala Lakhani’s murder case, a tailor employed by her has confessed to her killing. Rahul Anwar worked in a workshop at her home. Anwar said that he killed Lakhani as she had not paid his dues. Two of Rahul’s relatives were also involved in the crime. According to reports,  Anwar called Lakhani to the latter's workshop on the pretext of showing her new clothes stitched by him. The 53-year-old designer was then stabbed to death by the prime accused and his two friends.

After hearing her screams, Lakhani’s servant Bahadur came running to the murder spot. The attackers also killed him. After committing the crime, all the three fled from the spot with jewellery and other valuables. Police, during their initial investigation, arrested the three accused, after which all of them confessed. “All three accused have confessed to their crime. One of accused Rahul Anwar was a tailor at deceased fashion designer's workshop. He committed the crime with two of his relatives in an attempt to loot," reported India TV quoting Joint CP Ajay Chaudhary as saying.

The 53-year old fashion designer was found dead in her bedroom while the body of her 50-year-old servant was found in the living room in her house in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj on Wednesday night. Lakhani used to run a boutique in Green Park.
