Surat, January 22: Veteran Bollywood actor Moushumi Chatterjee on Monday allegedly criticised an anchor's outfit at an event in Surat. Chatterjee, who had recently Joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), criticised the woman anchor for wearing skin-tight trousers and a shirt, reported The Indian Express. According to Indian Express, the woman was presenting the event and introduced Chatterjee, when veteran actress took the mic and said, "Aap yeh kapde pehen ke aaye ho, yeh kapde sahi nahin hai. Aapko ya to saree ya dress pehen ke aana chahiye (The clothes that you have worn are not right. According to reports, the anchor refused to address the media after the event that was organised in a hotel. Later, Chatterjee, speaking to media, said that she advised her as a mother and not as BJP leader. The actress further added, "Even as an Indian woman, I have the right to teach youngsters what they should wear, where and when."

Meanwhile, on January 2, the 70-year-old actress had joined BJP in the presence of BJP West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya. There are speculations that Chatterjee would contest upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Elections from Kolkata or its vicinity.
