A female police officer at Mumbai’s Dadar railway station received praise online after saving a man from being run over by a moving local train. The late-night rescue, which took place on Thursday, July 30, was captured on platform CCTV cameras and showed the officer pulling the man away from the tracks within seconds.

According to reports, the 28-year-old man allegedly attempted to end his life by moving towards the railway tracks as a local train was departing from the station. The quick response of police constable A. Narwade prevented a possible tragedy.

The incident took place at around 10:54 PM on a platform at Dadar railway station. As the local train began pulling out of the station, police constable A. Narwade noticed the man in a dangerous position near the tracks.

The officer immediately rushed towards him, grabbed his legs and pulled him away from the approaching train. The entire rescue was recorded by CCTV cameras installed on the railway platform.

The man reportedly escaped without major injuries following the rescue. After being brought to safety, he was taken into police custody. Officials said he would be provided counselling and referred to a rehabilitation facility as part of efforts to support his recovery.

The rescue video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), drawing attention from users who praised the officer’s alertness and quick response.
