Mumbai, May 19: If you are planning holidays in Mumbai or just want to travel across the city on the local train, then this is the best time. Western Railway in its official Twitter handle announced a new commute scheme where a tourist ticket can be used for unlimited travel anywhere in the city by Central Railway, Western Railway and Harbour line trains. Mumbai: Bajaj Finserv Offers Rs 1 Lakh Insurance Cover to Local Train Passengers for Rs 399 Per Year.

The second class ticket for a single day is priced at Rs 75, while a ticket with 3 days and 5 days validity will cost Rs 115 and Rs 135 respectively. Similarly, the first class ticket with one-day validity will cost at Rs 255. For ticket with three-day validity, a person has to pay Rs 415 and the five-day validity ticket is priced at Rs 485.

No discounts or refund is valid on partially used or unused tourist tickets. Tourist tickets, however, booked in advance can be cancelled before a day of validity on which cancellation charges are at Rs 15 for second class and Rs 30 for a first class ticket.

In another post, the WR announced a new feature to the Mumbai locals. In an attempt to increase women’s safety in local trains, Western Railway has installed ‘Talk Back’ facility in 72 trains in first class and women’s compartments. This facility will allow women passengers to talk to the railway guard and the motorman in case of an emergency.
