Mumbai, August 6: In a bizarre incident, Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar was seen raising his hand on a woman in Santacruz area of the metropolis during his visit for a funeral. In a video that went viral on social media, the Mayor was seen raising his hand over a woman in public. The incident took place on Monday when the Mayor visited the family of a mother and child who were killed after getting electrocuted in Santacruz area due to heavy downpour.  Uttar Pradesh School Horror: 51 Students Electrocuted by High-Tension Wire in Balrampur. 

The video, which was widely circulated on social media, showed the Mayor being surrounded by scores of people. The 59-year-old veteran Shiv Sena politician can be seen asking locals not to engage in "Dadagiri". Mahadeshwar was also reportedly shooed away by the anguished by the locals there. Some women can also be seen taunting the Mayor by saying "bye-bye". According to reports, the Mayor was heckled by relatives and neighbours of two electrocution victims during the victims' funeral on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Nagam, who was electrocuted as she stepped out of her home in Santacruz when water began entering it. The woman touched an iron rod and got an electric shock. Her son, Sanket, who rushed to save her, died too after being electrocuted.
