Mumbai Mega Block on September 13: Will Local Train Services Be Affected?
Central Railway has announced a five-hour mega block on Sunday, September 13, affecting Main Line slow tracks between Thane and Kalyan and all Transharbour services. There will be no block on the Harbour Line, Uran Line or Western Line. Services on these routes are expected to operate as per schedule.
Mumbai local train services on the Central Railway’s Main Line and Transharbour Line will face disruptions on Sunday, September 13, due to a scheduled mega block (Sunday mega block) for engineering and maintenance work. The block will affect sections between Thane and Kalyan on the Main Line and between Thane and Vashi/Nerul on the Transharbour Line, according to details shared by the m-Indicator app and reported by Central Railway.

Central Line: Thane-Kalyan slow lines affected
A mega block will be in force on the Up and Down slow lines between Thane and Kalyan from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Down slow and semi-fast services leaving Mulund between 10:43 AM and 3:53Â PM will be diverted onto the Down fast line between Mulund and Kalyan. These trains will halt at Thane, Kalva, Mumbra, Diva and Dombivali and are expected to arrive at their destinations about 10 minutes behind schedule.
Up slow and semi-fast services leaving Kalyan between 10:36Â AM and 3:51 PM will be diverted onto the Up fast line between Kalyan and Mulund, stopping at Dombivali, Diva, Mumbra, Kalva and Thane. They will then switch back to the Up slow line at Mulund and are also expected to run about 10 minutes late.
Transharbour Line: Services suspended
On the Trans-Harbour Line, a block will operate on the Up and Down lines between Thane and Vashi/Nerul from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM. All Up and Down Trans-Harbour services between Thane and Vashi, Nerul or Panvel will remain suspended during this period. Down Transarbour services towards Vashi, Nerul or Panvel leaving Thane between 10:35Â AM and 4:07 PMÂ will be cancelled. Up services towards Thane leaving Panvel, Nerul or Vashi between 10:25 AM and 4:09Â PM will also be cancelled.
Other Lines Remain Unaffected
There will be no block on the Harbour Line, Uran Line or Western Line. Services on these routes are expected to operate as per schedule. Central Railway has stated that the mega block is required for essential infrastructure maintenance and passenger safety.
