Mumbai Rains Return! City Wakes Up to Moderate And Heavy Showers Due to Cyclone Maha, Local Trains on Central And Harbour Line Delayed

Mumbai, November 8: The city has woken up to sudden  November rains on Friday morning. The #Mumbairains is trending on Twitter and people are extremely surprised that this year, rains are in no mood to bid adieu to the city. Commuters on their way to offices brace yourself for local train delays and traffic snarls. On Twitter, users have shared that in the Central line from Dadar towards Kalyan trains are affected.

According to a Skymet weather app, this time, Mumbai rains have shown a different pattern and it saw some heavy November rains. On the first day of the month itself, Santacruz observatory recorded 46 mm of rainfall due to Cyclone Maha. Due to these rains, the news crops, particularly of onions, have been damaged and it has caused the prices to shoot up. Mumbaikars travelling in local trains complained that trains were delayed by 10-15 mins on the central and trans harbour line.

In Thane, Naupada has received 17 mm of rainfall since morning, and Vartak Nagar has received 18 mm of rainfall. The weather department had earlier predicted that Madhya Maharashtra, Thane and Palghar districts will receive light rains due to the effect of Cyclone Maha.
