Ten schools in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district will remain closed from August 20 to 23, 2026, amid concerns over an increasing menace of stray and violent dogs in the Narayanbagad and Nalgaon areas. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, with teachers instructed to continue teaching online during the closure.

The closure covers schools in the Narayanbagad and Nalgaon areas, Amar Ujala reported.

Online Classes During Holiday

According to the order issued by Chief Education Officer Akash Saraswat, teachers at the affected schools have been instructed to conduct teaching online during the closure period.
