Mumbai, August 21: A 36-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife following a heated argument over household expenses in Mumbai's Goregaon area, police said on Wednesday. According to cops, the suspect is absconding and the inconclusive evidence points out to the fact that he was heavily drunk while committing the crime, reported Mirror Now. The accused got into a quarrel with his wife over some domestic expenses at their residence. In a fit of rage, he strangulated her to death. After realising what he had done, the accused tried to cover the murder. He dragged her body to the roof of their home and pushed it off, Mirror Now reported. The couple were reportedly fighting over the money. The victim had refused to give him the cash she had kept aside for their children's school fee. In anger, the accused strangulated her to death. The postmortem has confirmed strangulation marks.
According to locals, the accused is an alcoholic. Meanwhile, he has been booked under relevant sections of the murder of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A search is on to nab the accused.
