New Delhi, December 31: Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia on Monday inaugurated the new section of Delhi Metro’s Pink Line from Lajpat Nagar metro to Mayur Vihar Pocket 1. The line will be operational for commuters from 4:00 pm today. This 9.7 km stretch on the Pink Line will have seven stations including Lajpat Nagar, Vinobapuri, Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Mayur Vihar Phase 1 and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1. New Year’s Eve 2018: Delhi Metro Commuters Can’t Exit Rajiv Chowk After 9 PM, Traffic Restricted Today.

According to reports, the new section will be open for commuters except for 1.4 km stretch between Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 and Trilokpur Sanjay Lake. Two stations, Mayur Vihar Phase-I and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1, on this stretch are elevated, while the rest of the Metro stations are constructed underground. Commuters can change for the blue line at Mayur Vihar Phase-1.

In August, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Puri inaugurated an 8.1 Km section of Pink Line from Lajpat Nagar metro to Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Corridor. People can change for Yellow Line at INA whereas for Violet line they can get down at Lajpat Nagar. The other stations on this line are Sir Vishveshariah Moti Bagh, Bhikhaji Cama Place, Sarojini Nagar and South Extension.

There will be a total of 29 trains operating on the Delhi Metro Pink line. Meanwhile, Hazrat Nizamuddin Metro station will have dedicated entry and exit points connecting to the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station and ISBT at Sarai Kale Khan.
