NPPA Revises Drug Prices: Check the Full List of 39 Medicines Under Price Cap

The revised prices have been notified under the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order (DPCO), 2013, as part of the government's efforts to ensure essential medicines remain affordable and widely available.
New Prices for Calcium-Vitamin D3 Tablets and Anti-Rabies Injection
According to the latest notifications, NPPA has fixed the retail price of Calcium and Vitamin D3 Tablets at INR 8.93 per tablet, inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
In a separate notification, the authority revised the retail price of Anti-Rabies Immunoglobulin Injection to INR 119.48. Retail Prices of 39 Medicines Capped
NPPA has also notified ceiling prices for 39 medicines used in the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic conditions. The revised prices apply to formulations covered under the DPCO, 2013.
Manufacturers, importers and marketers have been directed to implement the revised prices immediately. Retailers have been instructed to clear existing stock carrying older MRPs in accordance with DPCO norms.
Move Aims to Improve Affordability
The latest price revisions are part of the government's ongoing efforts to make essential medicines more affordable while preventing excessive pricing in the pharmaceutical market.
Industry observers said the revised prices for Calcium-Vitamin D3 Tablets, commonly prescribed for bone health and vitamin deficiency, and Anti-Rabies Immunoglobulin, used in post-exposure rabies treatment, are expected to benefit patients and healthcare providers.
The regulator said the revised prices were determined after considering market data and input costs, with the objective of balancing patient affordability and the sustainability of the pharmaceutical industry.
