Sambalpur, October 21: A youth was thrashed by some doctors of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science And Research (VIMSAR) in Odisha's Sambalpur for allegedly assaulting a doctor. On Monday, a video of the incident went viral on the internet, where the youth can be seen apologising and touching feet of the doctor he had allegedly assaulted. In the clip, doctors can be seen beating a youth in presence of police outside VIMSAR premises, formerly known as Burla Medical College. The youth was forced to do sit-ups and apologise to the doctors. Youth Thrashed Made To Do Sit-Ups by Doctors:

According to a report, on Sunday, the two youths manhandled Assistant Professor in Neurosurgery department A S Patjoshi in the operation theatre. Following this, some medical students of VIMSAR caught hold of two youths who were trying to escape. The two accused had resorted to violence after the doctor reportedly denied to accompany them to a private nursing home.

Reacting to the incident, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kanwar Vishal Singh said that strict action would be taken against whoever found guilty. Meanwhile, two FIRs have been filed by both parties- one by the father of one of the youths and the another by a doctor.
