Tral, July 26: Jammu and Kashmir National Commission Vice President Omar Abdullah on Friday, July 26, said that if people in Tral area boycotted the upcoming Assembly elections in the state, then the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would win the seat from where slain militants Burhan Wani and Zakir Musa belonged. "There's danger in boycotting polls. If there's a boycott, then like what happened in parliamentary polls will happen in assembly polls too, there'll be a BJP MLA from Tral from where Burhan Wani and Zakir Musa belonged. They(referring to BJP) have their eyes on some constituencies here," said former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister. Meanwhile, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said in the Lok Sabha that the centre had started preparations for assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, which may be held at the end of this year. On June 28, speaking in Lok Sabha, Shah said that "assembly elections date will be announced after Amarnath Yatra."
