Mumbai, November 30: With the current decrease in the crude oil prices, the fuel rates recorded lowest in months on Friday. The price for petrol dipped by 33 paise in the national capital and in Mumbai it was decreased by 32 paise. Due to this, the current price of petrol in New Delhi on Friday reached to Rs 73.24 per litre, while for Mumbai it was being sold at Rs 78.80 per litre, according to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) data.

There was also reduction of prices in diesel as well in both the metros. In the national capital, the price of diesel was slashed by 41 paise and for Mumbai the price dipped by 44 paise. With this, the price for diesel in the national capital reached to Rs 67.72 per litre and for Mumbai it was Rs 70.89 per litre. Not only in Delhi and Mumbai, the prices were slashed in Chennai and Kolkata as well. The price of petrol decreased by 39 paise in Chennai and is being sold at Rs 75.62 per litre. In Kolkata, the price dipped by 36 paise and it is being sold at Rs 74.88 per litre.

There was also a decrease in the price of diesel in these cities. In The price of diesel decreased by 43 paise, while for Kolkata it dipped by 41 paise. Due to the current reduction in price, the diesel being sold in Chennai at Rs 71.52 per litre and in Kolkata it is sold at Rs 69.57 per litre.

With these deductions, the prices of fuel reached to the lowest in months, giving respite to the consumers. Months ago, the petrol price in Mumbai had crossed Rs 90 per litre, while diesel almost touched Rs 80 per litre.

Intervening in the matter to bring down the prices, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced a reduction of Rs 2.50 per litre on both petrol and diesel prices a month ago and requested the state government to take adequate measures for people’s convenience.
