Ahmedabad, May 18: In another incident depicting Player Unknown Battleground (PUBG) addiction, a woman in Gujarat recently sought help from a women’s helpline centre to put an end to her marriage so that she could live with her gaming partner. According to a report by The Indian Express, the 19-year-old woman  from Ahmedabad, who is a mother of less than a year old child, rang up a women’s helpline asking for help to get a divorce from her husband. Officials from the helpline- ‘Abhayam-181′, informed that the after the woman’s call, they sent a counselling team to her house to enquire about the issue. The report further states that the team found out that she had been spending much time on her mobile phone playing PUBG, which created differences with her husband and her family. Narendrasinh Gohil, the project head of Abhayam 181 helpline, was quoted in the report saying that the helpline received about 550 calls a day but the woman’s call was the first of this kind. Gohil was quoted saying that usually, mothers would call complaining about children addicted to PUBG. The report informs that the woman was offered to stay at a rehabilitation centre in Ahmedabad but she refused because it did not allow the use of mobile phones.

Gohil further added saying that as part of their policy, no decision can be forced on anyone but the counseller made her aware of the options available to her. The woman, however, said she needs time to think about it and will call the helpline if she needs further help.
