Rajasthan: 3 Men Die of Electrocution After Motorcycle Hits Live 11 kV Power Line in Karauli

Three men were electrocuted after coming into contact with a live 11 kV power line in Rajasthan's Karauli district on Monday, June 29, police said. The incident occurred near a riverbank close to Bhopar village in the Todabhim area, where the victims were travelling on a motorcycle.

According to police, the three men unknowingly came into contact with a snapped high-tension power line lying on the road. 3 Die of Electrocution: Snapped Power Line Led to Fatal Accident

Police said the motorcycle riders encountered the fallen high-voltage wire while travelling through the area. Contact with the live power line resulted in a fatal electric shock.

"The bike also caught fire due to the current, and all three youths died on the spot," Todabhim DSP Murari Lal Meena said. The deceased have been identified as Ram Babu, Vishnu and Chaube Jatav, all residents of Aakhada village. Police said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and will be handed over to the family members after the procedure is completed.

Authorities are continuing to examine the circumstances that led to the incident. The tragedy highlights the dangers posed by fallen high-tension power lines, particularly during periods when electrical infrastructure may be damaged. Police have urged the public to avoid approaching or touching fallen power cables and to immediately alert electricity department officials if such hazards are spotted.
