Mehli Mistry, a long-time associate of the late Ratan Tata, has resigned as a Director of RNT Associates Private Limited, effective July 1, 2026. The private investment firm manages a portfolio worth over ₹1,000 crore, including significant stakes in major tech startups like Ola Electric and Urban Company. Mistry’s exit follows his decision to step down as a trustee of the Ratan Tata Endowment Trust (RTET) and the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation (RTEF), paving the way for a transition of leadership in accordance with the late industrialist’s will.

An official familiar with the matter confirmed that the change in directorship is part of an organized handover. Because Mistry is no longer serving on the boards of the corresponding Ratan Tata endowment entities, the directorship of RNT Associates is being formally transferred to the newly appointed trustees designated under Tata's will. In his resignation letter dated June 30, 2026, Mistry cited personal commitments as the formal reason for his departure. He noted his preoccupation with other obligations and requested the board to file the necessary notifications with the Registrar of Companies. He concluded his letter by offering his best wishes to the board in carrying forward the core objectives established by Ratan Tata. Tata Electronics Tightens Security After Massive Data Breach.
