New Delhi, January 23: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday announced additional 2.50 lakh job vacancies in Indian Railway. During a press conference, the union minister said that New job opportunities for 2.25 lakh-2.50 Lakh people have been created and recruitment for 1.50 vacant post is underway. "Pichhle varsh humne shuru kiya tha karib 1.50 Lakh logon ko nayi naukri dene ka kaam. Uske baavjood aaj bhi lagbhag 1.32 Lakh logon ki requirement railway mein hai. Iske alawa agle 2 varsh mein lagbhag 1 Lakh logon ke retire hone ka anumanit aankda hai (Last year we started providing jobs to 1.50 Lakh but even after that there are 1.32 lakh requirements in railway. "2.25 - 2.50 Lakh logon ko aur adhik mauka mile, 1.50 logon ki bharti ka kaam chal raha hai. Ek prakar se 4 Lakh nai naukriyan Railways akele dene ja raha hai, jismein 1.50 ki process bahut aage badh chuki hai, karib 2-2.5 mahine mein process khatam ho jaega (New job opportunities for 2.25-2.50 Lakh people has been created, process for 1.50 Lakh vacancies is underway. So Railways, in a way, will be providing 4 Lakh jobs)," Union Minister added.

All the recruitment in the railway is done through the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). Those who are interested in the job openings advertised by the Indian Railways can visit the official website online; rrbcdg.gov.in.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Piyush Goyal flagged off bi-weekly Rajdhani Express between Mumbai and Delhi from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST). The train is equipped with bio-vacuum toilets and an onboard wi-fi hot spot based entertainment system.
