New Delhi, November 29: Rashtriya Sawamsewak Sangh (RSS), on Thursday, announced that the organisation will hold Rath Yatra in New Delhi from December 1. The yatra will be of nine days and will culminate on December 9. The main aim of the yatra is to press the government for their demand of the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Earlier on November 25, while speaking at ‘Hunkar Sabha’ in Nagpur, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed dissatisfaction over the progress in constructing the temple. The RSS chief had said, “The matter is in Court, the decision should be given early. It has also been proved that the Temple was there. Supreme Court is not giving priority to the case. Justice delayed is justice denied.”

Bhagwat also asked the government to bring an ordinance for building the Ram Mandir. In September, Bhagwat had also raked up the issue of Ram Mandir during a three-day conclave, ‘Bharat of Future’ in New Delhi. He had claimed that Ram Mandir should be built "at the earliest" in Ayodhya and it would remove a major reason of discord between Hindus and Muslims, if the temple would be built through consensus.

Meanwhile, last week both, Shiv Sena and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) pushed for the demand of the construction of Ram Temple. Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray accompanied by 3,000 followers reached Ayodhya on November 24. During his two day visit, he met the seers in the city and also offered prayers on Sarayu River. During his address in Ayodhya, he hit out at the Narendra Modi-led government and demanded the exact date for the construction of the temple. On the other hand, VHP organised the two-day Dharma Sabha in the city to put pressure on the central government for constructing the temple.
