Court Order Triggers Demolition Drive

The administrative action followed a judgment by the District Judge's court on September 4, which upheld an earlier order by the City Magistrate declaring the structure an illegal encroachment on sensitive government land. The original court directive, issued on July 17, ordered the demolition of the structure and imposed a financial penalty of approximately ₹6.41 crore on its occupants over unlawful possession and commercial misuse of government premises.

Security Deployment at Collectorate Complex

Senior administrative officials, including the District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, were present on-site as heavy machinery was deployed to execute the demolition. To prevent potential law-and-order disruptions, the entire Collectorate complex was placed under high alert. Security forces locked access gates to the administrative area, restricting entry to unauthorized personnel while operations were underway.

Commercial Misuse Allegations Prompt Action

Legal proceedings in the case began following a complaint by Vikas Tyagi, former provincial coordinator of the Bajrang Dal. The petition alleged that the structure was built illegally inside a high-security government area where confidential administrative work is processed. District officials informed the court that the premises were being utilized for non-religious, commercial operations. Reports submitted during the trial indicated that a post office was operating from the site and multiple rooms were being rented out to external individuals, with the mosque committee collecting monthly payments. Authorities cited security risks associated with unauthorized commercial operations inside the Collectorate as a key factor requiring immediate intervention.
