An Assistant Sub-Inspector from Akola police has been suspended and arrested after a woman in custody accused him of seeking s*xual favours in exchange for money and help in her case. The accused, Rajesh Jadhav, was posted at the Civil Lines police station and was on duty as a lockup guard at the time of the incident.

According to police sources, the woman was in custody in connection with an alleged Rs 80 lakh cyber fraud case. During her detention, Jadhav allegedly approached her with an offer of money in return for s*xual favours. The situation escalated further when the woman claimed that he made deeply objectionable remarks about her daughter, allegedly saying she should “send her” to him in exchange for Rs 10,000 and that he would “sort out her case.” ‘Behan Hai to Kya Hua’: Bihar Police Officer Misbehaves With Brother-Sister Duo During Family Dinner at Katihar Restaurant, Suspended After Video Goes Viral.

Following the complaint, authorities registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiated immediate departmental action. Superintendent of Police Archit Chandak confirmed that swift action was taken. “We registered an FIR the same night and suspended the accused. Such conduct will not be tolerated,” he said, stressing the seriousness of ensuring safety and dignity for women in custody. ‘Show Your Ticket Or Get Out’: Bihar Teacher Caught Travelling Without Ticket, Creates Ruckus on Train; Videos Go Viral.

Senior Police Inspector Anil Jumle, who is leading the investigation, revealed that Jadhav fled soon after the FIR was filed. Multiple teams were deployed to trace him, leading to his arrest on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, former State Women’s Commission member Dr Asha Mirge claimed that similar complaints about Jadhav’s behaviour had surfaced in the past. Allegations of misconduct, including complaints by his wife and a woman constable, were reportedly raised nearly a decade ago.

The case has sparked outrage, raising serious concerns about accountability and conduct within police custody environments.
