Earlier, last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took a jibe at the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh by saying that the grand old party had promised to reduce the electricity bills and they have done it by reducing the power supply by half.

“Congress had promised to reduce electricity bills & found a solution to do so by reducing electricity supply in your homes. Congress government here is running on the formula of supplying lesser electricity than previous Shivraj-led government. Is this not a betrayal?” said PM Modi.

Meanwhile, according to reports, incidents of electricity tripping, manual interruptions and sabotage of wires and transformers have increased significantly since April 9. on April 29, there was no electricity for half an hour at a polling booth in Chhindwara, when MP CM Kamal Nath had gone to cast his vote. The CM had to use mobile phone's light to cast his vote.
