The deceased has been identified as Shrenik Milind Takale, who was vacationing with a group of nine friends at a resort in the Vayari area. The incident occurred on June 20, police said.
A video recorded moments before the tragedy shows the group dancing beside the swimming pool. Seconds later, Takale climbs to a height of around eight to ten feet before diving headfirst into a shallow section of the pool designated for children. According to police, the children's pool was only about four feet deep. Due to the force of the dive, Takale's head struck the bottom of the pool, causing severe head injuries. He collapsed immediately after the impact.
His friends rushed him to Malvan Rural Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
