New Delhi, October 31: Delhi's air quality on Tuesday deteriorated and turned to 'severe' category, which is the worst category in the Air Quality Index (AQI) assessed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The air quality on Wednesday morning was reported at 'Very poor'. On Tuesday, it was the first time in this season that air quality in Delhi has reached an alarming level, reportedly, due to stubble burning in the neighbouring states.

It is reported that many primary and middle section schools are shut due to heavy pollutions. The rising pollution has led to a spike in cases of breathless and severe coughing in the city. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) Chairman Bhure Lal said that Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) will be implemented. He further said if the plan fails them all the private vehicles will be banned from plying on the roads. While Delhi government has ordered a ban on 15-year-old petrol vehicles and 10-year-old diesel vehicles citing the heavy pollutions.
