The incident took place around 1 pm when the two neighbours were flying kites from the terraces of their building, Hindustan Times. According to police, the boy whose kite was lost became angry and allegedly abused and assaulted the other boy in a respective houses. Teen Boy Allegedly Attacks Another After Kite-Flying Dispute in Faridabad
According to police, the boy whose kite was lost became angry and allegedly abused and assaulted the other boy in a nearby bylane after coming downstairs to retrieve it. The other boy then allegedly went inside his house, brought a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim at least four times in the abdomen, police said.
The victim's family members rushed outside after hearing his cries and found him bleeding. Yashpal Yadav, public relations officer of Faridabad police, said: âThey immediately rushed him to the Badshah Khan civil hospital for treatment, but looking at his critical condition, doctors referred him to a better centre, following which he was shifted to a private hospital in Sector 19,â he said.
Victim Undergoes Surgery
Doctors at the private hospital performed surgeries for the stab wounds, police said. The injuries had also ruptured the boyâs intestines. Yadav said the victim's statement could not yet be recorded because his condition remained critical. âThe injured boyâs statement could not be recorded, as his condition was still critical. On his familyâs statement, an FIR under section 109(1) (attempt to murder) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Kheri Pul police station on Tuesday,â he said. The child in conflict with law remained with his family members, Yadav added.
Police registered the case at Kheri Pul police station based on the injured boy's family's statement. Investigators are looking into the circumstances leading to the confrontation and the alleged stabbing. The victim's condition has also prevented police from recording his statement so far.
What Happens When The Accused Is 12?
The case will be handled under India's juvenile justice framework because the child accused is 12 years old. Under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, a child aged 16 or above accused of a heinous offence can, subject to the Juvenile Justice Boardâs preliminary assessment, be dealt with under provisions applicable to adults.
A 12-year-old, however, remains within the juvenile justice framework and is dealt with alleged knife attack that left one boy critically injured. Police have registered an attempted-murder case based on the family's complaint, while the accused child remains with his family as the investigation by the Juvenile Justice Board.
