Ankit Balyan Murder: Shamli Police Form 8 Teams, Raid Haryana to Trace Suspects

Uttar Pradesh Police have intensified the investigation into the murder of Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyan, forming eight teams to identify and arrest those responsible for the killing. Several police teams have been conducting raids in Haryana as investigators work to trace the suspects and recover the weapons allegedly used in the crime, India Today reported.

Meerut Zone ADG Bhanu Bhaskar reviewed the investigation during a high-level meeting in Shamli on Friday. Eight Teams Deployed

According to police, eight teams have been assigned different aspects of the investigation. Some teams are carrying out searches in Haryana based on information gathered during the probe.

ADG Bhaskar said investigators had made progress in tracing the suspects and were also working to locate the firearms allegedly used in the murder. Baliyan Shot Dead Outside Gym

Ankit Baliyan was shot dead outside a gym in Shamli on Wednesday evening. Police said four attackers arrived on two motorcycles and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Reports said nearly 18 rounds were fired during the attack.

Baliyan was taken to a medical facility after the shooting but could not be saved. Police have been examining CCTV footage and other evidence to establish the sequence of events and identify the attackers.

Gang Angle Under Investigation

The investigation is also examining a possible gang-related motive. A social media post allegedly linked to the Gogi gang claimed responsibility for the killing and referred to an old rivalry. Police are verifying the authenticity of the post and investigating whether it is connected to the murder.

Investigators are also looking into Baliyan's music and social media activity. A song associated with the singer reportedly referred to gangster Jitender Gogi, and police are examining whether this had any connection with the attack.

Haryana Raids Continue

Police have reportedly traced the location of some suspects to Haryana, prompting Shamli Police's SWAT team and other personnel to conduct searches there. Investigators are using technical and intelligence inputs to establish the identities and movements of the alleged attackers.

Officials have not yet announced any arrests in connection with the murder. The investigation remains focused on identifying the shooters, determining the motive and establishing the possible involvement of any criminal network.

Probe Being Closely Monitored

The case has drawn significant attention in Shamli, with Baliyan's family and supporters demanding swift action. Senior police officials have said the investigation is being closely monitored and that teams are working on multiple leads. The latest police operation comes as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding Baliyan's killing and verify the various claims circulating on social media.
